How to listen to Pandora radio from anywhere outside the US.

I used to listen a lot to Pandora radio when I was in the US and I really enjoyed it, so obviously that I wanted it back home. But unfortunately, Pandora is available only in the US, because of the licensing problems which streaming in other countries could create. So, basically, if you are not in America, you can't listen to Pandora radio. But this is the official version...

There is a VPN service called Hotspot Shield which creates something like a tunnel between your computer and a gateway provided by Hotspot Shield (that's some sort of the definition of the VPN), which exists exactly in the US. The idea is that through this VPN, you should get a much safer browsing experience, because everything you do on the internet is sent, securely through that tunnel, in the US, so there is impossible for one to attack you and to try to track your data or something like that. For me it is not clear how the data is handled when it exits in the US, so I wouldn't trust Hotspot Shield when I buy something on the internet for example, but this remains at your own judgement.

By using Hotspot Shield, you should be able to access Pandora from wherever you are. I've been using it not very often for the last 1,5 years, but it always did its job.

Of course that using this also has some disadvantages, and they are mainly related to slow internet speeds (because everything has to go to the US and back) and sometimes slow DNS response. However, it is definitely worth being used for the possibility it introduces to all the internet customers, no matter where they are.

Android sales increased by 886% in Q2 2010, overtaking Apple's iOS in the US.

Android sales simply exploded in the Q2 2010 by 886% worldwide (or 851% in the US), Canalys reports. It seems that Android has overtaken iOS in the US, having 34 percent of the market share. Android is followed by RIM, with 32% of market share, and, on the third position, by Apple, with only 21,7% of market share.

However, reporting to the worldwide market share, Nokia is the leader, with about 38% of the market. And this comes mostly because of the second largest smartphone market, China, where Nokia has an astonishing percent of 77%.

BREAKING: Jailbreak & Unlock for the iPhone, now officially legal in the US.

The US Government announced today big changes for all iPhone/iPod/iPad users. Starting from today, Jailbreaking and Unlocking of these devices, along with rooting of Android devices and ripping of DVSs (for educational purposes only) are completely LEGAL into the United States, unless they are violating copyright law.

This is a major hit Apple's face, who, because of its strict policy, didn't let users install unauthorized apps. This decision is a big news for users who were afraid that jailbreaking could bring them into illegality, so, starting from now, they can jailbreak and unlock their iDevices without any fear. However, it is not clear if Apple's policy is still applicable, as they might still refuse to offer support if the device was jailbroken (I'm not sure if this decision puts them into illegality if they continue doing that, we'll  most probably get a clarification of this on following period).

Apple has problems with iPad 3G stocks.

The iPad is probably a best-selling product in this period. Nobody has expected for the iPad to have these big sales, even Apple. As we know, the international launch of the iPad (Wi-Fi model) has been delayed due to higher requests in the U.S. than they were expected. But the problems don't stop here.

A few days later after the 3G model has came out, more Apple Stores around the United States (mostly from the center and from the northern part of the U.S) announced that they had run out of any model of the 3G iPad. And the situation is worse than this, because several of them have limited stocks of the Wi-Fi model. It is currently not known when the stores will receive new stocks of iPads, but one thing is clear. The iPad is a huge success.

The Wi-Fi model should get out of the U.S. at the end of this month (if Apple respects its promise), but due to limited stocks in the U.S. I doubt about this. Even if we don't know when the 3G will come overseas, it is improbable for the europeans to see it by the end of May.

iPhone 4G/HD rumors - the internet blows up.

It seems that the 4th generation of iPhone has been revealed. A device has been found in a pub in the U.S., and Gizmodo (who currently has the device) claims that it's the new iPhone 4G/HD which everybody was waiting for.

This seems to be the next iPhone because of more reasons. This device seems to be having the next generation of iPhone OS 4.0 on it, and has been remotely modified by Apple so it can't currently boot up (and can't be restored). Also, Gizmodo opened it, and on the chips it's written "APPLE". But this isn't all. Apple lost a device, and it wants it back, so many experts are 99% sure that this is what Apple has lost.

However, if this is the next iPhone, it doesn't seem for me that its something extraordinary, at least, related to its design. Apple 3GS stays perfectly in the hand, while this device, with its new design, won't.

If this is the new iPhone, here are what is new:

• improved camera (probably 5 MP) featuring a LED flash
• front-camera for voice conversations
• standard SIM has been replaced with Micro-SIM
• split buttons for volume
• smaller screen than the previous one, but most probably with higher resolution
• probably noise-cancellation microphone (next to headphone jack)
• also, it is expected to have a similar hardware platform as the iPad (Apple A4 chip with 1GHz processor and 256 or 512 RAM)

Apple delays iPad international launch -- iPad available unofficially, at much higher prices.

For many Apple fans who were waiting for the iPad to get out of the United States to buy one, Apple announced something that completely disappointed them. iPad won't be available (officially) for anybody who lives out of the U.S., because the iPad is not going to be launched at the end of this month, but at the end of May.

This decision comes after a much higher demand for the iPad in the United States than Apple has expected. If you don't live in the U.S., you won't have it because Apple wants to sell the iPad to people from the United States firstly and then to other from another parts of the world. I really don't understand what Apple wants. U.S. citizens CAN also wait (and in a "fair world", should wait) for an iPad if they want one, if this is Apple's problem.

Anyway, there are also companies which are already selling the iPad in Europe, but the main problem is the huge commission they put on the price, just to make profit. For example, in my country there is only one big company from what I know which sells iPads, and the price is with about 50% higher than it's if you buy an iPad from Apple. But, even though, it is selling very good.

So, if you don't live in the U.S. and want an iPad, you more options:

• buy an iPad with the commission that is put to the price
• go to the U.S. just to get one (it's not a viable solution at all)
• make a trick and get one at almost the same price as it is in the U.S. (it's quite complicated, and it's also risky so I won't explain how here)
• wait and hope that Apple won't delay it again

So that's it. That's what they wanted. This is not cool, Apple!
