TweetDeck. The popular Twitter client.

TweetDeck is one of the world's most popular Twitter clients. His popularity comes from its efficiency and ease of use. It is for me the best Twitter client I have ever used. It comes with a dark interface, just perfect for the eyes. You can add many columns, started from your timeline, replies, dm's, public timeline and even columns with searches (you can view constantly what people from all over the world are saying about something).

I'm using it almost everywhere. On my computer (Linux), on my Windows-based Laptop, on my MacBook, and even on my iPhone !! Its installation will also install Adobe AIR, which will practically manage TweetDeck. But when you're using TweetDeck, do not use any other Twitter client at the same time. Both clients might search periodically for updates, and the requests limit per hour will be passed, so you will have to wait for them to reset in order to receive new tweets. And it can connect even to your Facebook, MySpace, or/and LinkedIn simultaneously, and get updates from this networks.

Just try it, I'm sure you'll like it: http://www.tweetdeck.com/.

Do you want a cool status for Y!M ?

Last night when I was navigating on the Internet, I discovered (via a friend) how you can get a pretty cool status. Is is drawn, and it represents a house between some trees. Just like this one
I really liked it so I put it on my status, and I had some buddies which asked me about that. So, what you have to do is to put those things *̡͌l̡*̡̡ ̴̡ı̴̴̡ ̡̡͡|̲̲̲͡͡͡ ̲▫̲͡ ̲̲̲͡͡π̲̲͡͡ ̲̲͡▫̲̲͡͡ ̲|̡̡̡ ̡ ̴̡ı̴̡̡ *̡͌l̡* on your status and you will get that picture. It works on Yahoo! Messenger, but it might not work on other IM services such as MSN, Skype or AIM ( I don't know, I didn't test it on that services). Enjoy !

P.S: If you like it, please forward this link http://bit.ly/5Qup2A to your friends.

Get Windows 7 Enterprise 90-day Trial.

Have you ever wanted to get Windows 7 for free, legally, for a limited time just to test it ? Microsoft is offering a free trial version of Windows 7 Enterprise (the equivalent of Ultimate, but this one can't be found in stores). But if you want it, you need to hurry. The time of the offer and the number of downloads are limited, so get it as soon as possible.

You need an account at MSN Messenger, or MSN Hotmail, or a Password account, which represents your Windows Live ID. Now you have to visit http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/default.aspx, click on "Download a 90-Day Trial of Windows 7 Enterprise", go at the bottom of the page, and select the language for the corresponding system version (if you are unsure about the version that your computer operates on, select the 32-bit which works on both). Now login with your Windows Live ID, and wait while the page loads. On the page that will appear after loading, where it asks "what occupation describes you best", select either "IT worker" or "IT manager" to be able to download the Windows.

Now you will have to wait for a while while it downloads. My download was very slow. I downloaded almost all the time with 60 kb/s, even if my bandwidth is nearly 700 kb/s permanently (Romania). I hope yours will be faster...

What else you need to know:
  • The key is included in the operating system, don't search for any because you don't need one
  • You must activate Windows in maximum 10 days after installation ; after that period the operating system will shutdown every hour until activation
  • After activation, the Windows will work for 90 days; after that period the operating system will shutdown hourly again
  • You must reinstall completely a new Windows because there is no option to upgrade to any other version of Windows 7
  • If you reinstall it again, you can use it for only 10 days; after that period your computer will shutdown every hour, and Microsoft won't activate it again.
Consider doing this on any Windows operating system because the download from Linux or from Mac can't be started (the page that appears after selecting the language loads forever on non-Windows operating systems). That is not cool, Microsoft !

So that's all. Enjoy using Windows 7 for 90-days ! For any problems, don't hesitate to contact me.

Adding background music to your blogspot blog.

You probably thought if it is possible to add music background to your blog. And yes, it is. But the way I know to do, it is only partially possible. I'm telling you that, because this method works only on Safari, Opera and Chrome, but not on Internet Explorer 8 or on Firefox. So, the only way I can share you the code is by putting it into a .txt file, and giving you the link. I've told you in a previous article, my blog is going to run the code automatically if I put it over here, and you won't be able to see the code, only it's effect. I'm really sorry for that !

Let's continue. Because it's really hard to find a way on which the sharing would be possible only by a link, the service we are going to use is Youtube. Now go to Youtube, choose a video (you'll have only the sound from it), and on the right side, you should see the "URL" (it is in the box where are some details about the publisher). Let that window/tab opened, because now we are going to work with the code. In the .txt file you have the code, which must be copied and pasted into a HTML/JavaScript Gadget (Dashboard -> Layout -> Add Gadget -> HTML/JavaScript), but where it says "URL of the video", please paste the URL which you just saw on the Youtube window/tab. Leave the quotes how they are, and paste that link between them.

Now you should be having music on your blog. If not, please try again, and if you can't get it working, please leave a comment, and I'll try to help you.

Here's the link for the .txt file: (it's safe, don't worry) http://www.4shared.com/file/182233947/6ae0a1d2/musicblogspot.html

Adding snow on your blog/site.

I know that it is late, but people are still searching for that this year, and it will be useful for the following winters. There is a easy way for adding snow into your blog or site, without taking much power of the computer, thing that people are afraid of. The only thing you have to do is to add a script into your blog/site (e.g. On blogger, go into dashboard -> layout and select "Add a gadget", and from the list select HTML/JavaScript and add the line below).

Please download a .txt file which contains the script, because I can't paste it here because it would be runned automatically (seeing only the snow, not the script code).

Google Chrome OS on VirtualBox.

Even if Google Chrome OS is still not available for complete installation on regular computers, it can still be ran on virtual machines. A good and free virtual machine is called VirtualBox, and it can be downloaded from the official site here. Everyone should be able to install and use VirtualBox, since it is very simple and efficient.

By the way, you should start downloading the image of Chrome OS from here, while I'll tell you what else you need to know. The image archivated, so if you are under Windows I would recommend you to download and install WinRar, and when the image download is completed, you can unarchive (or dearchive, or how it should be told) it. Leave the image as it is. In the VirtualBox, Google Chrome OS should be set as a Linux operating system, then as version Ubuntu. Everything you need to do is simple, and for additional informations you can either visit this link:
http://www.techcrunch.com/2009/11/19/guide-install-google-chrome-os/, or you can leave a comment and i'll help you. You will have to login into OS with your Gmail username and password.

I've tested it on a Macbook with 2 GB of RAM and Intel Core2 Duo processor at 2.00 GHz, and it worked fine.

Attention!! Do not allocate to VirtualBox more than your current free RAM memory, otherwise the computer can become unstable or it can stop responding !! (it would be good if you save your work before starting the virtual machine)

Thanks to WebUpd8 for everything.

Problems with Yahoo! Messenger 10 ?

Yahoo! Messenger 10 was launched some time ago, but its problems are not yet resolved. Most of the reported problems are with the statuses, which refuses to change (and for sure, this is one of the most annoying problems). I got this problem several times, but Yahoo did not launch yet a fix for it. Other reported problems, and met by me, were with the sudden blocking of the program, and sometimes, even with the instant crashing of the program. On the last days, I really had serious issues when trying to change statuses, so that's why I decided to open this subject.

If you have problems like those mentioned before, or any other kind of problems with Yahoo!Messenger 10, please don't hesitate to leave a comment with details about it here.

ATI Radeon X300 aero on Windows 7/Vista.

*Update: Download ATI Radeon X300 driver for Windows 7: http://www.4shared.com/file/199253812/27d26aeb/atix300driver.html

I attached a link which contains the back-up of the driver for ATI Radeon X300 for Windows 7. Since I'm no longer using Windows 7, I can't tell you for sure if it works or not (it should be working). I think it might be installed via control panel, by clicking update drivers (and selecting the file you've downloaded). Note that you should have WinRAR, because it's a .rar file (uncompress it before starting the update procedure). Please leave a comment to know if works or not !
*

As you probably know, the are some problems on running aero effects from Windows Vista or 7 on ATI Radeon X300 graphic cards, due to incompatible drivers with these operating systems. After searching for hours on forums, I thought there is no change of running aero from Windows 7 on my Dell D610 laptop. But I found a solution, when I was searching a driver for my sound card.

There is a program available, named DriverMax, which searches automatically for newer drivers available for all your components inside your computer. In the free version, you can download only 2 updates for any pc component every day, in the paid version the number being unlimited. Until now, it did his job excellent on all my computers, even if they were running Windows XP, Vista or 7.

So, just give it a try, it takes you nothing: http://www.innovative-sol.com/drivermax/
